ABOUT US

Garden Design Studio was set up in 2002 by Kim Meter. Kim is a fully qualified and experienced garden designer who hails from South Africa where she studied HND Landscape Technology at Natal Technikon Durban, and then went on to complete BSc Horticulture at Writtle College after she settled in the UK.

Kim’s passion for garden design, and her love of plants, stems from her South African childhood where her parents and grandparents influenced her with their profound passion for all things gardening. She is a creative, serene and friendly person who loves the outdoors and has a passionate interest in the conservation of wildlife and ancient woodland.

Kim has spent all her working life (since 1994) creating and managing gardens, from Interior Plantscaping and commercial garden design and management in South Africa, to home garden design and maintenance here in the UK.

Kim’s design style : Kim designs ‘timeless’ gardens; that are true to the brief and site and reflect the personality of the client. She prefers to use natural materials and to add a contemporary edge to traditional schemes.
